Wine lovers and foodies should be excited by new route launched at Southend

Airline Flyone will begin flying passengers to and from the Moldovan capital Chisinau in July. Flights will operate twice aweek on Friday and Tuesday with prices starting from £69 one way.

 Chisinau is famously known as Moldova’s wine and food loving capital which has origins dating back to 1420, 6 centuries ago.

 Mirea Maleca, general director of Flyone stated: “we appreciate this collaboration with London Southend Airport and are convinced that together we will offer passengers a safe, comfortable and affordable flight alternative.”

 Glyn Jones, chief executive officer of Stobart Aviation, owners of London Southend Airport, said: “London Southend is delighted to welcome flyone passengers to our rapidly growing airport.

 Meanwhile the first Flight between Southend and Bulgarian capital Sofia took off in December. Flights to Sofia are now operating every Sunday and Wednesday with prices starting at £25.

 The new easy jet route is estimated to carry over 11,000 passengers during the winter period.

 Ali Gayward, UK country manager at EasyJet, said: “EasyJet has now been at Southend for over 6 years and this new route plays a key role in its overall expansion strategy, offering both low fairs and great service.”
